Basics
The optimized using of the properties of the NIR radiation (Near Infrared), allows thermal processes in seconds. High energy density and volume heating is responsible for the significant reducing of processing times.
NIR-emitter have a colour temperature of 3000 K by a wavelength maximum of 0,9 µm. With reduced colour temperatures the power is significantly reduced and the maximum level is moved to a higher wavelength range.
In the wavelength maximum of 0,9 µm polymers have a transparent behaviour, this means that the heat condictivity is not responsible for the heating time; the radiation penetrates in the depth and occurs the volume heating effect.
The NIR radiation is focussed on the product by a specially designed reflector. This focussing of the radiation leads to higher effectivity and ensures defined heating areas, stripes or points.
